I’ve been pretty selfish in my knitting endeavors last year. While I’ve posted more about what I gave away, (and will probably do so), I made more for myself than anyone else. Pile on the hard tasks of Grad School, I didn’t have much time to be knitting anything for anyone anyway.
In November, I decided that I was going to knit something quick and easy for my husband. Thinking it would be done in a few days, I cast on. It took much longer than a few days, and it was rushing to get it done right up until the last minute. I had it wrapped by the evening of December 24th. Talk about last minute knitting.

I have to talk about it though, because I loooooooved this yarn.
It’s Cascade Color Duo… and it is the best. Info Here It’s 70% baby alpaca and 30% merino wool. I used the Treetop color way because Dan loves green. It took 2 skeins to get the width and the length that I know Dan would like. It is long enough that he can wrap it around his neck and stay warm. The only negative is that it has to be hand washed and dried, but it’s a small negative for this lovely yarn.
It was so soft and the stripes worked almost perfectly with my made up basket weave pattern.
Isn’t it beautiful?
The husband, who I’ve knit-neglected for so long, loves his gift and wears it all the time. It’s the best when someone loves what you make and shows it by wearing it. Knitting is meant to be used. 🙂
